Indian businessman and former Indian upper house parliament member, Vijay Mallya has once again in the news as he was spotted watching the fifth Test match between India and England at the Oval. Despite having too many loans and debts to his credit, he always seems to be a relaxed person.
Vijay Mallya is the ex-chairman of India’s largest spirits company and is also the co-owner and Team Principal Sahara Force India Formula 1. The fled away businessman is well known for his lavish culture and luxurious lifestyle. He emphasizes alcohol beverages, aviation infrastructures, real estates, and fertilizers.
Mallya founded Kingfisher Airlines in 2003 and came into the limelight with the help of United Breweries Group’s flagship beer brand, Kingfisher. The project ended him in big trouble and was also arrested in April 2017. However, he was left out on bail and is fighting extradition to India on charges of alleged fraud and money laundering to Rs 9000 crores.
In the video below, Mallya is spotted getting out of the car and walking up to the gates of the stadium with India chasing England’s first innings total of 332 runs. After going through the gates, he hands over the ticket to enter the stadium before showing a thumbs up to the camera and going off for the security check.

This is not the first time that Mallya has attended a cricket match in England. Last year, he had attended India games during the Champions Trophy.
Mallya’s counsel has challenged his extradition to India on grounds that the Barrack 12 at Arthur Road jail, where he is to be incarcerated, does not receive enough natural light. In response to this, the Central Bureau of Investigation has submitted a video footage to the Westminster court, which is hearing the extradition case, refuting these claims.
